Composer Nathan Johnson has done some wonderful work on Rian Johnson's previous films, The Brothers Bloom and Brick. But for Looper, Nathan has taken a rather radical new approach to scoring. Ain't It Cool News has provided a featurette and little taste of Looper's score that demonstrates just how outside the box the soundscape will be, making use of all sorts of found noises and objects. Looper opens September 28th and stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Featurette below.
In the year 2042 time travel has not yet been invented. But in 30 years it will have been. In Rian Johnson’s highly anticipated sci-fi action thriller, Joe works as a looper, a futuristic assassin who receives and eliminates targets sent back in time by a criminal organisation. The only rule is that you do not let your target escape – even if that target is you. The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.
